- Jeepneys is a solo music project of anna luisa petrisko. The word “Jeepneys” comes from a portmanteu of “jeep” and “jitney.” The original jeepneys were american ww2 jeeps abandoned in the Philippines and converted into public transit. Jeepneys are flamboyant and colorful, and often painted with religious or cultural icons and symbols. Like the namesake, Jeepneys' music originates with forgotten junk--discarded and/or abandoned instruments.
